Toner fell silent this week as we gathered together to share the two-minute silence on Armistice Day.

Children in Year 3 reflected on what Remembrance Day and the symbol of the poppy means to them.

Here are some of their thoughts:

“During the two-minute remembrance, we were all silent. I was thinking about the soldiers who risked their lives for us so we could have a better life. They went to wars and had big fights for us. I was thinking how thankful I am to them for sacrificing their lives for our country. We now wear poppies for Remembrance Day”. (Sophie)

“During Remembrance Day we thought about the soldiers who have fought in wars for us. I think they were kind and brave because they went and they knew they might die. They didn’t want to die. We wear poppies to remember people who dies in wars. We remember them every 11th November.” (Layla and Zak)

Kayleigh took part in the Remembrance Day Parade with her fellow Sea Cadets. Here she is with her sister meeting the Mayor after the parade.

Our Year 6 School Council Representatives, Alfie and Nicholas sold poppies, wristbands and bracelets each playtime and we raised £228.91 for the Royal British Legion.
